Definitely an ace picture, but hereabouts the genre 'candid' becomes 'dpc candid', naturally enough, and unfortunately you dip out there.

Pig facing the camera would have pushed this higher (not that one has a whole lot of control over that). The inclusion of hairdresser and client reflected in the mirror is great.

Another one bites the dust, but, you know, pigs are used to that...

You know, when I vote, I don't often look at titles - so I will tell ya that I never saw that pig! lol What a catch. What I liked about the photo tho was that your candid was captured as a reflection. I think for this challenge I would like to have seen the focus be more on that instead of opening up the pic including the pig. But the pig IS a nice touch because how often does one see that? lol

I thought this rather clever and well done, and deserved to place higher.

Didn't notice the pig until I read the title. A little too busy in the background, and the mirror seems to be the focus of the picture, it's where my eye is drawn to first.

When I first read the title, I thought you were referring to one of the woman as the pig, but on second pass, I saw the. Now I like it a bit more. And I love the use of the mirror.

One of the few entries where the photographer knows what a candid photograph is. 8

and the hair dresser says "why the long face?" A candid moment captured on the spur of the moment without any thought to composition is very effective - the author did well to capture the people in the mirror and the reaction to the pig's entrance. It is a truly candid moment that, while shy of being a total technical or artistic success, certainly demonstrates how fleeting truly candid moments are. A good solid entry into the challenge.

Ha, very quirky! I like the reflection idea, one of the more original in this challenge. The shot has a lot of potential, I feel that if the wholeshot was shifted slightly left, i.e the whole of the pig was visible and the chair in the bottom right was gone and the whole thing straightened up a bit this would be classic. I'm obsessed with black and white but I fell that this in B/W would make it stand out from the competition a bit more.

Points for an original, if bizarre, offering.
