While at the river with my daughter, this beautiful dog walked up with her owner for a quick dip. This pic was taken right before she licked my lens. :o)

Only changes done were: resizing, contrast, and brightness

Voters are pretty definite about what they're looking for in a challenge like this, I guess. As you now know, a quickly snatched picture of an animal doesn't fit, whereas a quickly snatched picture of a person does.

Shame, really, as there's a whole load of doggy emotion (and lens licking) in this picture. We live and learn. At least you got the picture:)

Call me traditional, but I don't consider this to be a candid, as my idea of the genre is that it should include people.

The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured carries some visual impact. Technically, it's a very well composed image which is a plus. From an artistic standpoint, it lacks impact. A worthy entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.
