Technical merits on the photo are nice but other wise its daunting boring and very tragic crap! To much nothing to care about looking. You have a large empty negative space on the right side I guess its filled with clouds or a tornado maybe but to hard to know for sure then you have nothing to draw you along the image from the bottom to the top just a minimal line that shifts with trees that leave something to be desired. If its for the contest you fulfilled your obligations for a great photograph for it and probably for most of the people here but if you looking for an image if viable staying power this isn't it. It looks like you were in a car driving by and went oh oh it have this and that and shot it without a real care for the subject. Well I hope you shoot more.

I hope you left shortly after taking this ... or was the storm actually headed the other way? I've seen that kind of lighting before, where it's quite bright near ground level under a dark cloud cover -- good job portraying that look.

Nice shot and good timing (as for the weather). The clouds give a sense of approaching doom. (8)

Great color in that dramatic sky! The contrast with the field is nice.

I think some dodging and burning in the sky would really help add much more impact to quite an impressive storm.

This is a hard photo to take. The clouds give everything a grey cast, and that hurts the picture a bit. Somehow, if you could get the colors to punch a little, the contrast to the threatening clouds would be great.

good job placing the trees to the side of the composition as opposed to directly in the center, makes it a lot more interesting

Really simple composition. Like the ominous clouds with the bright light shining through.

the "3 tree's" are a very small part of the picture, everything else is too disracting

A well-deserved 9.

That`s one brutal looking sky !
Wouldn`t be the American midwest by any chance..where the tornadoes are wreaking havoc ?
Well captured

Great sky! Possibly best of show. Congratulations! I am curious how much post processing was done. I have seen sky just this way but rarely am successful catching it just this way through the lens. Hope you do a tutoril. I'd like to learn. (9)

Wow. Plain and simple. Nice brooding effect of the storm clouds against the tan color of the fields. The three trees also lend well to the feel of this photo. Excellent job! 10.
