Obvious reference to Earth by the former television show of the same name.

Taken from a tower atop Blue Mountain in the Adirondacks of upstate NY.

For those not familiar with fish-eye lenses, this is one of the interesting effects obtained when you place the horizon line above the center of the photo frame.

Honestly would be surprised to see this do well. I think it's worthy of a 5, but no more than a 6 (which means it will probably finish in the 4-5 range). Fully expect some to slap me with the "DNMC" moniker, but I wouldn't be the first to slip a landscape photo into a contest where it might not belong. Just haven't entered anything in a while and was kind of anxious to do so.

PP: Convert from raw, Curves, Levels, Color, Hue/Saturation, USM, format for web, add border.

I'd also like to see this cropped without people in it, like right after the people down there...I don't know, just a suggestion. Very neat view!
