I know this one was never going to have mass appeal, but I really liked it. My intention was to capture my steamy breath as a significant element in the composition, but my hot tea that I took out to help accentuate the steam went cold too fast :(

I have always loved hotpasta's duotone images in blue tones, and thought that the technique really gives a cold feeling to images. That was what I was trying to harness in this shot.

I was really struggling in this shoot with the focus and composition. I need one of those fold-out screens on my D80 like they have on video cameras. Self-portraits are really tricky!

I also took dswann's comment on board and submitted to 1x.com just out of curiosity - lo and behold he was right- they published!

brilliant shot and i really love the tones ...
interesting reading about the difficulties you had .. the tea going cold etc .!!!.
