This week, I was all caught up on event and work pictures, so I decided to spend the week taking pictures of things I love -- just for me. So of course, I ended up visiting my friends at the zoo. For me, they aren't just ZOO animals -- I feel like I KNOW these animals. And I know a few of them recognize me too. The elephant and the rhino for sure, and I realized this week, the lions do too. Course, being aloof cats -- I think it was just my long camera lens that had them curious. I caught them cuddling earlier in the week, but they were too far back to get a good enough quality. So I went back just about every day hoping for another cuddle picture closer up. No such luck. But towards the end of the week, when I came, the male looked right at me, then walked right up to the edge and started roaring. I think he was talking to me :)

Here's one of the outtakes that I was hoping I could catch closer up :(

Sorry you didn't get a ribbon but you did get a star! And only two votes below a 5. That shows universal appeal, excellent photography, and a deft touch at processing. Congrats!

mmm probably a crop on the left side was a better choice. the photograph is composed from right to left perhaps this is a bit unusual(but not an error!) as my personal opinion reflect the image around the vertical could be a good idea for a better result

SandyP? Has her signature grace, softness (yet perfectly sharp) and elegance. Lovely composition, and makes me want to reach out and pet that fur! (But I won't - I want to keep my hand, thanks.)
