Got my new tamron 28-75 f2.8 on Monday and was keen to give it a go. Very happy with the sharpness of the lens.

This wasn't how I pictures it. I wanted the spam with the shadow of the cell door across it. I thought perspex with a cardboard cutout would give a nice soft light with a shadow but the shadow wasn't very clean. It made a good backdrop in the end, a bit smaller that I'd like but it seems to b doing OK.

Imaginative idea and well executed. (so to speak)

I had this one pegged for a ribbon... I guess I can't predict how the DPC voters vote... Still... top 10 isn't a bad result... Congratulations!

I like the idea, but not the can over the plate, because this is unnatural... Also, i would prefer some more definition on the bars on the background (maybe a little less backlight)

i'd preferred the background "cell doors" to be properly vertical, but this isnt bad at all, i liked the idea.

LOL. This is an excellent example of how background can make or break a shot. Your lighting on the SPAM can is right on, even though you're dealing with strong light from behind it.

Nice shot. Good lighting. Fork tines appear to be out of focus though. Good job.

{chuckle} An original idea---I like it. However, the highlights are a little harsh on this one; I find my eye drawn to the bars and away from the SPAM dinner setting. This same concept might work better if we didn't actually see the bars, but only saw their shadow outline on the table.

Clever! I hope everyone notices the jail cell in the background. Very well photographed.

Beautiful light, nice shadow to imply jail.
