Scorzonera laciniata

These are very common, of course, and is known as a "False Salsify". I've been salivating to participate in DPC again, and now that life is just a wee bit calmer, I hope I can do so once in a while.

For this photo, I turned it 180°, fiddled with levels, saturated it a bit, re-sized for web, and sharpened it. I selected the middle portion of the flower and darkened it a tad. There were also two reddish blobs that I minimized by saturating and darkening.

I saw one of these the other day; quite impressive. Like your DOF and light. Not scoring based on title but I wonder if it would suit the image better if it were flipped so the flower was rising out of the bottom of the image?
