I agree with you 100 percent, images don't allways need to be tack sharp to be good. This on is AMAZING! Well shot and BAH on the low voters!

This one and the second ribbon winner were my favorites, gave you a 10 - I just really like some blur and painty feeling, and the composition is really effective here.

Very striking! Photos that are out of the box just don't go well with "in the box" challenges. This is the type of photo that people will look at after the challenge and wonder, why didn't I see that it was brilliant!

Well, this didn't do as well as I had hoped - but I have to admit I sort of expected this. The DPC crowd is so keen on focus and crispness in pictures, which this of course doesn't have - but it have so much more, and I still believe it's the best in the challenge - and by quite a margin too.

I gave you a 9 - and I very rarely give 9's

I don't know if this was a lucky shot or you set out to do this, but I really like it. It will be interesting to see where this ends up because DPC likes photos that are in focus.

Blur on just the wings would have been effective, the whole image being blurry detracts from its potential

I feel like a little more contrast would help the shot. There is a fine line with shots like this between a strong feeling, intersting shot and just a blury shot. I keep going back and forth on which it seems like to me.
