Challenge: Deep DOF (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Nikon D100
Location: McKinney, TX.

Aperture: f/8.0

This is taken near my house. I did a Nik Color Effect Pro Sunshine filter to bring out the colors some. I also did some burning to the sky to greater enhance the rain clouds. I also ran a light NeatImage on the sky to give it the silky smooth look.

Thanks, it's actually the 12-24 @ 24. I basically held the camera over my head, pointed in the general direction and snapped. This was one of about 4 shots I took of that field.

I was almost convinced this was a jjbeguin shot - to the extent of being surprised it isn't. It has his trick with colours, and the shaping and shading of those foreground leaves. Also this composition is very typical of some of his work from a little while ago. Interesting stuff Dan; and it remains (as my previous comment meant to emphasise more) an abject lesson in how only a very small thing can have a disproportionate effect on an image - that tree can take up no more than about 3% of this image.

good dof, but the foreground is pixely and a little out of focus. If you cropped closer to the flower tops, it might look better. great sky

I like the placement of your picture. The tree in the backround is also a nice touch. I will be interested to see where this picture was taken as the corn is quite high for this time of year in my part of the country.

Nice range of colours from blue through yellow to green..may not be clear enough focus in the distance to fully comply with the challenge (for some).. but I really like this image.
Good work

Beautiful composition and shot for the challenge. The tree in the background gives a nice focal point.

i think this would look better if it were not so closely cropped and showed a wider view.

Without that tree, nothing.

Beautiful, you could have increased the sense of depth even more by shooting from a little stool. 8

ooh I LOVE this one!!! The sky could have been just a little more threathening to add even more drama to the picture, but it's also ok now!
Your colours are realistic, though strong, your compostion is great, that little bush in the background really confirms your deep DOF..this must be a winner's photo!!

Excellent! Someone who understands deep DoF! Nice compostion, exposure and focus. I might suggest cropping out about half of the sky. All in all - a pleasant and strong submission.
