A view through a polycentric kaleidoscope, over various odds and ends - gold chain, marbles etc. I had to use my camera with the smallest lens so that I could get the lens properly up against the eye-piece.
I chose not to crop right into the image, but to leave the black around it. The shape of the kaleidoscope view is roughly triangular and on this particular image ( I took hundreds) it blends into the picture. The slightly warped/soft focus look is just a characteristic of the kaleidoscope.
I cropped some off the sides only, duplicated the layer, layer style blend mode luminosity, unsharp mask, neat image, blurred some of the flecks which are a part of the image, brightness/contrast, added a small black border, resize, stw.

Nice, though I think some minor color and contrast adjustment could bump it up a notch.
