Approximate camera location:
34°18'11.14"S, 18°48'48.19"E

Taken at the 10mm end of the lens a while after sunset. The glow on the horizon is the city of Cape Town. The idea for this shot was initially thought up by prperold (he was unable to execute himself due to cable release failure). I also used his Sigma 10-20mm lens. I painted the rocks with a flashlight during the 382 second exposure.

RAW conversion in Lightroom. Noise reduction, curves adjustment layer to boost the blue and drop the green slightly, hue/saturation adjustment layer to increase blue saturation slightly, brightness/contrast adjustment layer, resize and sharpen.

I'm usually not into star trail pictures, but this one really stands out due to the lighting and clarity of the rocks in front. Should have ribboned (rather than mine).

This shot along with the title just blew me away! You can definitely see the lines of time as the earth spins on it's axis. Amazing! It took me back to the times when I use to hang out my bedroom window having a smoke at night and I would glimpse up to the stars and my heart would go thump as I pondered the universe and the one who created it... that greatest of all questions was on my mind, How could a God so huge know someone as insignificant as me? Does he still play a part in a person's daily life or has he created this world upon which we live and left it to it's own devices?
