The colors just glow from this little guy ... beautiful job capturing him so well and I always love it when the catchlight is evident .. justs adds so much to the composition.

MaryO is right it is a Common Grackle, the adult has a long dark bill, pale yellowish eyes and a long tail; its plumage is an iridescent black, or purple on the head. The adult female is slightly smaller and less glossy.

Looks like a Grackle of some sort. The patch of light really brought out his color nicely.

The thumbnail really doesn't do this justice. Great job. I'm hankering for technical details though - especially lens and aperture information.
