 The Southern Eye undergoing it's "repairs" after major cracks were found in it only weeks after its grand opening. Basically, the entire structure is being dismantled and replaced (no actual repairs)... thankfully, it was still under warranty.

Heaps of processing.

Single RAW capture, rotate, crop and tweak in Lightroom and export to 5 separate jpgs. HDR in photomatrix. Topaz and high-pass filter sharpen in PS. Add border and resize file size in Fireworks.

You asked for a comment from a Critique Club member.

This is the coolest shot. You have the most amazing leading lines, you are crisp, clean and clarity is tremendous. Your HDR here shows people what it can be, not the grainy stuff we are so often confronted with. Your POV is excellent, the half empty shows us what could be, what has been. Your DOF is great, I really feel the height in this shot.

I am not a huge fan of borders, but this suits this shot to a T. I can imagine this on any postcard and selling like hotcakes.

I thought this was a great HDR shot - the details on the wheel are fabulous! But I really loved the sky - it was my favorite part. Congrats on 10th place and your new PB!

Simply wonderful Vlad, love the tones and colors in here, the HDR is processed perfectly, not under nor over done in here, it is simply perfect.
I am glad for this challenge, I wont many friends, you are on the top of the list :)
P.S, I gave this one an 8,

A rarely photographed view of a ferris wheel. Pin sharp, and a great angle. the wide border seems to help the comp as well. One of my faves. In fact it is going in my faves list.

Another fantastic HDR photo. Sky blue is a bit too dark,, I would've lightened that up after the HDR processing. And crop is a bit too tight on the left. Otherwise 7/10

I shall be rating this challenge by the following criteria:

1 - Not HDR in my opinion

3 - HDR is way over-done, in my opinion

5 - A reasonable use of HDR, but not a very engaging photo, in my opinion

7 - A reasonable use of HDR, and an engaging photo, in my opinion

10 - A fantastic use of HDR, and an out of this world photo, in my opinion
