An interesting and engaging abstraction.

Impossible not to make this association to Duchamp:

This was way underrated, IMO. What a fabulous photo. Feel nude, see nude... whatever. It's there and it works.

That's the best kind of abstract, IMO. The shapes look like what they are supposed to be, but at the same time they aren't what they appear to be.

I would love to see a shot of this shot from a different angle that revealed what you were shooting (the same applies to most all of your work). You have a great eye for shape, texture, and color.

I second the "magic flowers" love. Too funny.

You 'weren't allowed'? How does that happen!?

that was a lame joke about me being under 13 years old. Never mind.

Did you have to get Golda Meir from her grave to take that shot?
well done

This is probably the most interesting entry to look at in the competition. Don't get me wrong, some of the other entries are beautiful and have more of a 'wow' [or a 'phwoar'] to them, but this certainly provokes a different reaction - as good abstracts do. I like it for that reason as well as the textures and colours.

If i could have voted in this challenge it would have scored highly, probably a 9 or 10.

Andres, I'm sure other interpretations will vary greatly, this is mine:

43rd?! This was my top choice (gave it a 10). I really enjoyed the fresh approach you took with this.

Well, you got a 10 from me. The only one I gave in the challenge. Congrats on a spectacular photograph. Pointandshoot is spot on!

This is really interesting - a wonderfully abstract air about it and the gentle colours fit in well.

No dpc-friendly (imo) but for this challenge it is the image I looked at longest - that alone counts for a lot. Abstract and interesting, serendipitous or intentional, this does very well in my book.

I might be getting old, I think this is the most beautiful nude in the challenge. Great job. -10

It took me a great deal of viewing before I saw the body. I love the feel of the image, and the sense of some sort of truly vast scale. A quite extraordinary piece of art that needs to be viewed again and again.

I have looked and looked, closed this shot and relooked so many time. I can not see the nude to save my life. I am sorry

09/28/2009 05:09:27 PM
Sorry but I have never been a fan of abstract art and I don't have a clue on what I am looking at here, images like this just do not appeal to me personally, just thought I'd explain the low vote.

i like the texture, but wth is this?

I enjoy abstracts and really like how you used the angular black border to define the image. The suggestion of a nude silhouette is intriguing but arguably a bit of a stretch in satisfying the challenge.

My mind is playing tricks on me. I see about three different images when looking at this, and I'm not sure any of them are what others see (at least not all of them).

One of only two 10's I've given ... such an abstract interpretation but for some reason I love it!

Abstract nude??? Sorry, can't tell what this is.

I love the subtle hint, and the suggestion of character within the form. A bold and daring risk, which wins me over.
