We went off for a weekend to the seaside recently and this is the hotel corridor our room was on.
I loved the symmetric lines and thought it might be suitable for the challenge.
I’m really surprised, never in a million years did I expect it to do so well. Thanks so much for the votes, comments and ribbon.

Is this a macro of a dollhouse? lol I didn't think this was you Irene when I first laid eyes on it. Beautiful hallway and you captured its beauty splendidly. B&W was well suited for this too. The washed out doorway at the end gives this shot an eerie feeling, once you notice it. It makes me think of the movie The Shining for some reason. 'gratz

Congrats on stepping out of your comfort zone and winning a ribbon with a BW shot, Irene! seems like some nice photos on the walls there, not the typical "hotel art" :)

LOL! Couldn't take the kitchen with me, so I had to do something else ;-))

Knowing you, after an attempt at breaking into the hotel kitchen failed you were forced to settle for this. :-)

I so agree with you. The only problem was, there were either groups of people or the corridor was empty. In the car on the way home it occured to me I could have got my husband to stand at the end of the corridor... Could have kicked myself ;-)

In my opinion, This photo will probably make the top 5.

It may even win the blue.....As it should.

The subject matter alone would be boring, but this is very interesting! You've done a great job of drawing the viewer in to the photograph and I love the black and white. Great DOF.
