I took this shot in the Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness Area here near Aspen. It was a pretty amazing moment -- I saw the mountain goat coming down a trail leading out of a basin about 1/2 mile away from where I was. He was just ambling down the path, enjoying the day. I figured he would stay on the path, so I hid about 4 feet off the trail behind a bush, with just my camera sticking over the leaves. I took this shot at the exact moment when he noticed me. After I got the shot, he walked towards me quite quickly. I let him get about 3 feet away before I stood up. When he saw just how big I was he looked surprised and backed off.

Pyramid Peak is the mountain in the background,

Hi Bryan,
Seriously you should be proud of this shot, it is way under rated,
I gave this one 9 at the challenge because I would've loved to see more sky, this is a personal taste of course, but this should've finalized,
Be proud, it is one of my favorite entries in this challenge,
All the best,

I am jealous of anyone who gets to see such a scene, nevermind photograph it. It's like that Mountain Goat is turning around to ask if you're still following him!

A very good capture. Unfortnately this scene is missing some special lighting to make this really special. 7

Love the look on that fuzzy guy! Would have liked to see a more interesting title, to go along with that look. Maybe something along the lines of The Porter, Are you coming? or Trail Guide. I find people tend to appreciate, a well thought out title. Yeah, you will usually get an extra point for it too. If you ever need a suggestion, just send a pm.
Nice shot....

The scenery is dramatic and overall it's well composed, but for some reason the shot doesn't have an outstanding quality to it. I think it might be the muted colours, the whole scene feels a little flat. Did you shoot this through a long lens perhaps?
