 This image - or at least a version of it was to be my September 09 FS image. I had been a little unhappy about the background and wanted to brighten it a little - I tried a dodge brush but it looked clumsy on less bright monitors so I did it in Viveza and it looked OK. After roll-over I looked at my image on my iPhone and realised that I had uploaded the non-Viveza edit.

I actually think this version is untouched by either - I just pulled it off an online server elsewhere. I think the one I was going to put up had a slightly different crop, with less at the bottom.

It was at 6.11 when I pulled the 'bad version'.

By way of commentary on the image itself - I got this between poses at my first model workshop shoot.

Great shot. I love the high contrast B&W. The selective desat is perfect and really draws the eye in.

very nice lighting (Rembrandt type) and focus is exactly where it needs to be. And even selective desat (which I usually hate) works here, although I personally would get rid of it still - especially in a shot called "Lashes" :). Too bad you had to pull it (but you may still use it in Best of 2009!)

Quite lovely. I love the way the light just brushes the eye on her left (viewer's right) - creates a touch of vulnerability and gentleness.
