Good lord, Judi, simply stunning. Who cares about a score, this is NatGeo worthy.

I love this photo, perfect use of the narrow DOF. However, for reasons so eloquently described by bassbone, I only gave you a 7. Deal with it. lol

This is a terrific image; far better than the three that won.

This is brilliant Judi! Greatly under appreciated. This is so clearly into the frame I'm surprised by the DNMC comments. By the way, strikes me more as a nightmare than a dream, but I suppose that's my interpretation.

Come on you crazy Aussie woman! How the heck does this fit the challenge???????!!!!

1. The warrior here is completely on screen and centered as is the child warrior (good composition - so it doesn't meet requirements of the challenge).
2. Both of these are human (so although it meets the challenge description - if I read it incorrectly - and I choose to read it incorrectly like a lot of people on DPC - it doesn't meet challenge).
3. The warrior in back is coming into the scene from behind - not up, not down, not sideways, not upside down, not from above, not from below, not on a string, not on a kite, not with a pole vault, and not on a motorbike, and these are the only ways I could think of, so I must conclude definitively that he is not actually moving, even though I have already stated that he is moving...So it therefore DNMC!!!!!
4. The image is way to small at 640px. This shot should be at 800px!

So, therefore I must give you a 1....

Hehe - that was fun as well! (Someone you know got a very similar comment)

Of course, I guessed who's shot this is (or rather figured that two shots with similar subjects and the landscape were likely taken by)...

This is actually an awesome shot - one of my favorites in the whole challenge - but I am really not voting on this challenge but figured I would give some comments to my favs..

Well shot, good tones, colours, intrigue and unusual, not the typical beach and sunset shot :) Pity about the one annoying blade of grass over child's right eye.

Sorry about first comment and the low first rate. I just misunderstood rules of the contest about having or not peoples in the frame...Anyway I will fix my mistake. Thanks for you understanding

I like your take on this. My interpretation is the chap behind is coming into the frame from the background

They don't seem to be moving into or out of the frame

very crisp colorful image, I think this would win based on that, but I don't have a sense of the challenge objective

This is great! It meets the challenge as the boy is leaving the frame! 9 sorry took off 1 for the frame!

I'm not quite so sure I would say this is into or out of the frame in the sense that the challenge stipulates, but I think this is an excellent image. Your choice of dof is great, and the look on the child's face along with the figure in the background are exceptional. I really enjoy the varied lighting on the high grasses as well- it really adds depth and interest to an otherwise monotone element. I didn't vote, but would've voted this highly.

Looks menacing - like the guy in the back is sneaking in for the attack.
