Wow, "Photographically speaking", you've become quite a relentless bug killer since I first emailed you a few years ago. You shoot them with digital kindness. I assume none are harmed unless they become a real pest, like compete for your dinner.

most of them do fly away but i get the occasional one that will pose for pics .. !!
be very fast on the shutter when you've got them in focus .. always manual focus .. using am external flash helps immensely .. take heaps of shots coz at this magnification its very difficult to get the focus exactly where you want it .. mostly you wont know until you see them on the monitor .. approach them very slowly .. most of them will fly away if your shadow falls on them .. etc .. :)
11/25/2009 01:14:59 PM

I notice that you not only take insects photos. Your other type photos are very great, too. But why do you choose the insects photos as challenge entries mostly?

i've been fascinated by insects since i was a small child and i really love photographing them ... also i live in a rural area and during summer there are lots of insects around ..
i have some health problems that stop me getting out as much as i would like so i photograph what i can, which turns out to be insects a lot of the time .. :)

Thank you for answering such a private question. Wish you have a good healthy body and keep creating great images for us. :)

wow buddy, you're just going nuts lately! in a good way ;)

I can remember not that long ago, you saying that you felt you would never connect with the voters or nail down the dpc formula....looks like you were totally wrong. I am proud of you and happy for you and I hope (and think i am right) that photography is a nice distraction from all things physical and personal that ails you.
