Challenge: Landscape V (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Pentax K200D
Lens: Pentax SMC- DA * 50-135mm F2.8 ED (IF) SDM
Location: Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, Califor
Date: Nov 21, 2009
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/3
Galleries: Landscape
Date Uploaded: Nov 22, 2009

Rambled around Pt. Reyes on Saturday looking for the light. Reached the lighthouse just around sunset, and as I pulled into the lot looked to my right and saw the cliffs aglow with the setting sun. Grabbed the tripod and ran across the street, and had about two minutes to set up and shoot before it disappeared. Reasonably happy with this shot, especially since I forgot the AF was turned off.

I'm sure the vertical landscape will throw a lot of voters, particularly at the new 800 px side. I'm hoping the top 2/3 will carry the shot, but we'll see. Guessing this is about a 5.8 - doesn't really pop enough to go higher and there is going to be a lot of tough competition this week.

The South Beach I am familiar with hasn't looked like this in MANY years (Miami). :o) This is a great shot... love the composition.

Wonderful depth and detail in this stunning birds eye view beach composition. Feels like I could just take off and float into the space.9

This is a photograph of repeating patterns - the incoming tide patterns match the multiple sand patterns of the oft previous tides. Those patterns in turn have a corresponding match and echo in the textures and patterns of the illuminated cliffs. I find this peaceful in its eternal continuity.

It's a lovely image, I'd crop the dark area on the bottom.

Nice colors and light. Ordinarily I like some detail in the foreground of a landscape but this doesn't add much interest to the scene, so I'd crop it out.
