The shift of tones in this, and subtle use of color, are both absolutely awesome.

I tried to type up what bugged me about this, and finally decided not one thing. You made an image that disturbed me, got me to stare at it for a long time, and finally wish I could do something so cool.

I think that means you win top score from me. :)

I think your idea is good. I don't like that the hand is washed out. The lighting in general tends to be a little harsh.

An original approach of the challenge. Something else than al the churches. Only a bit too harsh at the level of the hand. This image support a hard light, but I would like have seen the edge of the hand. Still, due to your originality: 8
