This is SO wonderful.

I just love what you do. Time capture and treatment is timeless.

Beautiful tones Clive, I like the pov being from behind the man's back, it keeps more interest and mistery in the scene.

have you heard about Nikolai Gogol's famous story "Overcoat"? [Dostoevsky, another great Russian writer, once remarked that "we all came from Gogol's Overcoat"]. This is just an image to go with that story.

thanks for the compliment Paul.. :) I wish it was mine, I do like this a lot - the photo, and the processing. Great job Clive! (did not vote, just came across it)

I thought this might have been Zigomar's but not quite - I suspect my next guess might have been you had I pondered a bit longer. You have a lovely touch with processing. You use it to your advantage to bring your story to light in just the way you wish to tell it. Congrats on the new personal best, and in a FS no less!

This tells such a story but I don't know what it is. Your photo makes me want to know. Well done. My favorite of the challenge.

Very good vintage kind of processing. Good use of DOF, is it PP or real DOF?

What a great photo. Feels like something I'd see on the walls of Starbucks. An intimate moment well imagined, captured and presented.

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Oh wow! Instant favourite! This is just such a holistic image - every element is mutually supportive of each other element. The tones, the focus / blur, the vignette, the composition, the subject.... All brilliant.

Critical stuff: Nothing.

Overall: Quite fabulous; this says LevT to me - apologies if I have this wrong.
