Thanks for all your fine comments. Only two weeks of learning to use HDR so I am pretty satisfied. The mountain is again Hekla, easy for me, since I live only 30 miles away. The farm in the foreground is now used as a musiic hall, the cowhouse and the barn and some weekends they play jazz or classical music there. Thanks again.

What a lovely photo. I love the contrast between dark sky, bright middle ground, and subtle foreground. Very well imagined, captured and presented.

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Wow, the quality of the light here stopped me in my tracks - the coloration too is sublime. The whole scene is quite magical and looks very much like a miniature.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all

Overall: Very interesting image.

I really like the lighting in this...this needs to be in a calendar or on a wall someplace...beautiful

The shaft of sun makes the dramatic landscape even more dramatic, well caught.

Great job of capturing the light. It's the aspect of photography that keeps me determined.
