 A 5+ alarm fire blazed through a strip mall in Rochester, NY's NE side, The fire was started in a Family Dollar store and quickly overtook the strip plaza which was home to many other retail stores. This photo is one of the many units on scene battling the blaze.

Wonderful action shot, being at "eye level" with the firefighters really makes this shot (as does the lack of distracting background elements).

What a terrific and dynamic photo! Because the boom is hidden by the smoke, it looks like the bucket is suspended on the stream of water. Then you realize it's an illusion. Cool. Well composed, captured, presented. Among the best of the challenge.

I like the angle of this shot, it looks as if the firemen are floating in mid-air, and the colours add to the drama.
