Challenge: Contre-Jour II (Basic Editing)

Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Location: client's barn near Oxford Mills
Date: Dec 7, 2009
Aperture: f7.1
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1.6 seconds
Galleries: Interior, Animals
Date Uploaded: Dec 7, 2009

This is Fabulous Bella, a retired TB racemare who also had a foal or two before being retired. She is at the same barn as many subjects in recent entries - Cornish Kiss (Drama), Slow Dazzle (November Free Study) and Delvista (Into/Out of Frame) are all barn mates of hers. She was dozing happily in her stall til I came along, set up the camera on a tripod and began telling her to hold still!

Tried to catch enough lightspill coming in through the window to actually wash out the bars, but didn't quite get it. Ah well.

This is wonderful. And I think the window is brilliantly(!) done.

Wonderful. A rewarding photograph for those who linger long enough to let the image fully appear. If all is right with the world, this will ribbon.

Nice lighting on the horses back (ridge) and eyes. Bottom rails and grey wall behind horses head a bit detracting. Still a 7

Starting from the light at the left, the first think the eye falls on is the horse's rear...sorta looks like it could be someone's head...a prisoner in a cell. The eye continues across the image and finds the horse's head...surprise! This would also look good with the window cropped out, I think. 7
