This is my tired husband, just in from work and looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet.
I said “hello dear, how are you? Can you put on your old hooded fleece jacket, hold this glass, lean on the table and look dispairing and full of self-hate”? ;-)) He said “sure”. Gotta love that guy!
Anyway, during the voting week he kept asking “how am I doing?” So I read him the great comments that were coming in and he was really chuffed. Thanks so much for that and the super score (6.1 as I write).

That is an incredible portrait, Irene, and congrats to you on catching him for the shot as he came home from work - wouldn't have worked half as well if he had been more rested. Ahh, the weight of the world upon his shoulders...great work! :-)

Fabulous lighting in this with great seperation of lights and darks - and perhaps more importantly darks and (other) darks.

I wonder how small this guy was to take a macro shot of him like this? hmmmmm.

Congrats your none-macro photo M ;)

Great work Irene, I am in the middle of a family crisis with my sister who is having a tough time fighting her alcoholism. Your shot hit very close to home.
Congrats on the ribby!

A good model is hard to find... A good husband is even harder to find.

Congrats on a TWO-FER. :)

Good photograph, but i don't see "hate." I get the black-cloaked demon, but he looks more like he's nursing a mug of thera-flu than a diabolic potion.

At first glance, the model appeared to be a monk. Therefore, I was distracted when I saw the digital stopwatch and fleece sweatshirt. Nevertheless, I love the idea behind this shot. Well done!

I like the composition, the use of b&w, and te subject. I'm trying to find something I could suggest improvement on but I can't. :)

This seems more "reflective" than "hate"; but it is a very good photo.

I get more sadness than hatred, but the photo is excellent.

This image really fits the theme. I imagine the subject hating his life, hating his addiction, or hating what he has done. And the image quality if very good, with nice lighting and separation from the intriguing background.

This is superb. The sepia works so well here. I also think this stands out from the others as although it's obviously set up the model is not being overt ...it tells a true story for many.

I like the desaturated look and the light is great. Not that its affecting the way I score your image, but I think it would be nice to not see the watch. Good job. [9]
