First of all, many thanks to levyj413, for creating the wonderful tutorial Moon over Jefferson.
Also, Insomniac helped me with the crop, it was a very tight one!

It was not very easy to pull it off, because I was short on time and it was the only 2m that the moon appeared in one week (I know, great timing!).

I still plan to redo the picture with more time.

Anyway, it was a 20 second photo. I zoomed at 105mm (oh how I wished I had a 18-200mm...) and focused on the moon, so as to get it on the upper half of the picture. Still it is blown out :( I didn't use a black card though, I just covered the lens with a black cover, and then put the zoom setting at 18mm, and aimed at the bridge (a little guesswork here), and left it on for 10 seconds or so more.
All this in Bulb mode with a cable release.
Then it was just lucky to get it between the arches.

I just wished I had a better view of the bridge, without the branches, but I will do it better next time :-D

I'm guessing for a 6.7 or 6.8 (fingers crossed)

PS: A quick math tells me that in order not to blow it at the aperture you were shooting you should be using 1/500. You are just too human for that... ;)

Damn! I still can't believe I missed it as one of yours.. :-o

Everyone is so formated to the Golden Gate that even me (an almost certified Lisboeta) didn't even registered this as the Ponte 25 de Abril.

It was my 6th-12th best vote (7*)
Congratulations on wining me on this one. :)

This is quite nice.... I've been to the bridge a few times and its ALWAYS fogged in, this past september I hardly even saw any of it.
More detail in the moon could have come from a slightly faster shutter to cut back on the light, possibly cutting back on the blown-out blended street lights lower right but maintain your obvious high f-stop in order to maintain depth of detail.that shutter speed will darken the rest of the shot but then, selectively lighten the rest of the shot in p.p. This is a really tough shot without having post processing. Good Luck here!

Interesting contrast between the soft moonlit clouds and the harsh angular urban structures.
