 It was Sunday afternoon and I was already processing another image for this challenge. Then...I went grocery shopping and leaving the store was intrigued by the patterns in the fresh snow. I added my cart tracks (the leftmost of the longer pairs) to the existing ones, got my camera from the car and returned to shoot some pictures. Fortunately, there was very little traffic ~ the Patriots were playing! ~ but meanwhile one car drove over the area. I think overall those last car tracks add rather than detract from the image and I love how the rightmost, shorter, pair of shopping cart tracks seems to "float" above the ground (at least to my eyes ;-) !! ...

Shortly after this we had almost "whiteout" conditions for a while so I was lucky in the timing.

Converted Raw into CS3; Slight crop on the top and right side; Topaz Detail filter; Gradient multiply on each side; Resize; Adamus sharpening; Add border; Save for web

I love this photograph. Great black and white and so much as I experience the cold and slippery days and nights of cold New England these days.

I really like the simple randomness to this, it's just tracks in the snow but it's very compelling.
