First challenge so here goes !

After a 1.5 hour drive to this location on a 36 Degree (Cel) day it was very rewarding to get this shot. Another photographer was here taking photo's so it was great to chat to him.

I have taken to converting landscapes to black and white as they can have more impact. Even though the sunset was quite stunning I really like the look of the black and white in this setting

Editing:
Tone mapped in Photomatix saved as TIF
Open 3 images and merged in CS3
Cropped to 3:1 ratio
Unsharp Mask
Gradient Map (Black and White)
Another Gradient Map (Black and White), Screen
Adjust Curves
Slight Vingette
Resize to 800 px wide and save as jpeg

I can only imagine how stunning this would be stretched out into a full panoramic. Even the new size requirements dont do this justice. I will let my imagination stretch this image to give it the vote it deserves.

Unfortunately the size doesn't lend well to DPC, but the picture is great. Great use of B&W, nice depth of field. Well done. 8
