We were holidaying in the Nelson Bay area and went 4wd'ing along Stockton Beach for the day. I knew the wreck of the Sygna was down the end and tried to time my getting there so the light would be right to shoot for this challenge.

Checking the shots that night I was really unhappy with them so was trying to think of a story that would entice my wife to let me schlepp her and the dogs down the beach again for the day, she doesn't like revisiting things so soon.

Then I read of how they had done up a seawall at Stockton and made a nice walk out of it (Deb likes nice walks with the dogs so was an easy sell). It was quicker to get there via the beach than by road and this gave me an another chance to shoot the Sygna.

After shooting the Sygna and getting to the seawall right on sunset I was surprised to find the wreck of the Adolphe there with a viewing deck built over it and managed to get some great shots as the sun went down.

Later that night checking the images I was once again really unhappy with the Sygna shots but was surprised to see how well the Adolphe shots came out.....when shooting you should always be prepared for the unexpected jewels.

Many thanks for all the votes & comments. Here is the first of the 9 captures with no +- exposures

Good shot...The sky looks good, and I like the way the water looks

Cool image, but the resolution is too low and noise too high to get a high score.

Very interesting scene, needs to be larger! HDR processing was handled well, particularly in the sky and grass.

The HDR is just too much. Because of the processing the image is vignetting a lot. This is common in HDR, and although the subject is interesting, the shadow bothers me.
