I guess in some ways i do have a signature style. I often use selective blur, strong contrast and textures and washed out desaturated colour. I'm also keen on a square crop. I certainly have a number of themes and motifs i often find myself coming back to again and again. Windows, doorways and staircases feature heavily and i try to extract a feeling of ominous expectancy out of these entrances and exits. I'm very interested in attempting to photograph absences and many of the techniques i use, such as blur and desat, are in aid of this. What i'm really aiming for in my photographs is a sense of unease, of unreality, the feeling that something isn't quite right, of something or someone just out of shot, on the peripheral or about to enter. I'm always very happy when someone describes one as creepy or spooky. To be a bit pretentious about it; what i'm really aiming to do is take, or create, photographs of ghosts.

Greetings from the critique club

Congratulations on the successful execution of your signature style. It must be very satisfying to get your second best score with this shot!

I'm not surprised at all at the high score for this shot even though it is "artsy" and "abstract". The composition is wonderfully "clean" with all elements working together to create your vision. The wonderful lines, textures and desaturated colors support the subject so wonderfully. I love the contrast of the dark window around the bird and the frame. I've only done a few critiques so far and it has been fairly easy to come up with pointers on how to improve a shot until this one..I can honestly not think of a single thing that would make it better. It is no wonder that you have already gotten 13 favorites for this shot.

I didn't vote on this challenge, but had a feeling that this was yours. Capturing that bird in the window is - of course - the bomb. Beautiful. Great finish, too.

Well, you got you a 10 from me. I guess I'm a clive fan. I didn't recognize it as yours, however...

Nice textures and earthy feeling. I also like the frame in a frame.
This is one that I have been looking at all week and never scored. I'll give it a nine since I'm still looking at it and still lovin' it.

I have no idea whose this is but just wanted to say I love it. It's got a blend of pointandshoot, posthumous, skewsme, and possibly clive_patric_nolan. A lovely blend of elements and textures.

This looks like a cutout photo, it's very abstract, and the overall feel is very intense.

Beautiful... absolutely beautiful. This is wonderful art. Up there as one of my favs for the challenge... and based on the the quality of the art, and the inclusion on what looks to be a pigeon.

Coming back to look at this again as I really like it. I wasn't planning on guessing the photographer, but I had a feeling. Is this Clive_Patric_Nolan?

I find this image just beautiful. Simple at a glance, yet cunningly complex. Lovely lines and textures, and the shadowy, abstract hint of a bird seems to represent a soul escaping or breaking free of some bondage.

Oh my!!! This is subtle and extremely avant garde. I love it. RKT? Whoever, I think it's delicious. The hint of blue, the geometry and I adore the diagonal line. 9

Beautiful image. The coloration, the window and the 'feeling of this' - I'm pretty confident that this is clive_patric_nolan. I would cite these images as evidence:

I think the image resonates with this body of work.
