A few have remarked about how dark this is and I think it depends on the monitor the viewer is using. I've printed this out and there is more detail than I think some people are seeing. I may have to lighten up my shots to make sure all can see the detail in the shadows better. :-)

I gave this one a 7. It is dark on my computer but what I see is the head in a spotlight and subtle details on the wings. I think it is perfect for this regal bird.

What a great shot. The detail is wonderful. Regarding whether it's too dark or not, it looks terrific on my monitor!

Very nice. Lighting works perfectly here. Eyes are well lit and posture of eagle good.

Lots of drama in this image. It is a bit dark for me to be a real high scorer. The head of the Eagle is particularly nice.

Way way up north. I don't know that I like or dislike the b&w but your image is well composed and very clear.

I always find half the beauty in these shots the details in the feathers etc, but the B&W conversion you've done seems to have lost a lot of that.

This version is quite interesting, especially the strong head area against a largely black background, but I'm not sure if it makes up for the loss of the other attributes.

I'm sure everyone is pointing out the halo, no? I also submitted a bird with a halo and am getting lots and lots of comments about it.

However, that's not the first thing I see here. I see the most beautiful BW tones, and outstanding bird-of-prey photo that sets itself apart from the myriads of eagle shots here. It's stunning.

Nice portrait, almost doesn't look alive! A bit dark for my tastes.

Unlike eagle photos we are accustomed to... I feel the top of wing might be over-brightened a tad, but I like the 40's portrait feel it has. Good photo!
