This shot was taken during a typhoon / storm which hit Hong Kong on September 13,2009. This was shot from my bedroom window as I was taking a series of long exposures. You can see the rain droplets on my window which are reflected from the bright lights of the city skysrapers as well as the lightning bolt itself. Enjoy.

Great work, it's a shame that so many don't feel that the rain drops on the window add to the story. Easily one of the best in the challenge :)

WOW, nicely caught. I love the effect the raindrops on the glass have added to this, especially around the lightning!

WOW! I imagine that this image's authenticity has be questioned multiple times... so I won't... but I guess I have by saying that... so I won't question it further... this is an amazing capture... plain and simple... full marks on the capture. Processing and detail are excellent too... but I'm still blown away by the capture. WOW!

Nice abstract and yet a pity about the water/rain ruining this view of the bolt hitting the tower. I would want either or but now am liking the abstract part but curious about the potential of a clear shot.

I like the effect, and of course the moment is terrific, but I wish you had corrected the tilt.
- Doesn't evoke Ghostbusters to me so much either. ;-)

I think you were behind a window right...it add a surreal feeling to this for me. Quite the capture

Try shooting with a graduated ND filter. this will darken the sky while keeping the lower half of your image bright. This is a great capture but the processing could use a little work.

Shot through the window? Would have been great without the rain on the glass but not much you can do. It actually creates a cool effect with the spots of light around the main lightning.

Jawdropping. Simply stunning. To get this in a city with all the lights and everything, beautiful. Pity about the rain drops but you do tend to get them in a thunderstorm. 10.

Hahah, great title. I have mixed feelings about the raindrops-through-the-window thing, but it makes for a cool effect with the lightning.

It's a shame there are drops on the window (assuming this was shot through a window)... this would be just remarkable without the drops. Very cool capture.
