I like the way the bear looks straight back at me!

[Jan. 26th, 2010 07:52:27 PM]

I agree with all the comments made about the cropping... I unfortunaelty at the last minute cropped the photo is more to try and bring the bear forward. It did not work and as mentioned in many comments I should have either cropped close up or gave him some space around the edges... I also had to make a decision from many bear pics and in retro spec I should have also chosen a more interesting or technical picture rather than our favorite.

Thank you for all comments received... it aids my learning process for which I am greatful.

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Congratulations. You were there on one of those splendid treks to see the bears. A friend went exploring on one of those treks in that area a summer ago and came back with wonderful images. As, undoubtedly, did you. I have the feeling that you have many more splendid images of bears from this shoot.

These are awesome creatures, and it is no wonder that you wanted the image that was 'up close and personal.'

As far as a critique goes, this beautiful bear could have certainly used more space in the frame to show off its power.

I look forward to seeing more images from you at DPC.

Great image! but I feel the crop isn't just right. Too close maybe; like all of the story isn't being told? Or not close enough; perhaps it should have closer on the face?

it seems that this is cropped just a little to tight...it could afford more space both above and below the shot...that given...you have excellent detail

Nice capture. One thing to remember is the 800px dimensions could have been better.

Great image. Too bad you didn't use the maximum allowed pixel size. I'm sure it would be even grander.

I probably would have bumped this up a notch or so if it had taken advantage of the 800 pixel size limit. This seems a bit smallish.
