This is vastly underrated, but the posthumous blue in a "Best Of..." challenge more than makes up for the poor placing!

I loved it and it was one of only 4 photos I gave a 10!

I think this is fabulously moody, and the title really works in synergy with the image. I gave it an 8, I'm disappointed it didn't fare better for you.

beautiful capture of light and shadow. looks like a photo that might have been shot with film a long time ago.

Great mood, love this shot! There's so much in it that I don't know what to talk about so I'm just not going to mention anything specifically and say that it's excellent and I wish I had taken it myself!

Great capture. You feel like you are there and that person just walked past.

Very nice city b&w. The darkness of the photo gives it a dirty feel. Nice job.

Lighting and tones are equisite. Excellent sense of depth, of lower(?) Manhattan, and the blurred figure in the foreground gives the photo an immediacy and relevance. The streak of light along the far curb almost makes it appear as though the figure and van are traveling in opposite directions.

Nice - street at its best. A sense of mystery with the fuzzy figure in the foreground. A sense of hope with the beautiful light shining on the buildings in the back. Outstanding contrast.

I like the fact that the light falls on the man in the foreground, highlighting him as the main subject. It's very dark and contrasted. The one thing that it makes me ask myself is "what is it that the photographer wanted me to see in this...what is the reason?" But, then again, with dozens of flowers and insect shots in this challenge, I'd likely say that I'm getting far more out of this shot than the eye candy shots :)

i'm a sucker for high contrast b&w photos. i probably would have given this a different title, however, because the woman with the travel bag is motion blurred and doesn't immediately draw your attention. i found my eyes exploring the sunlight reflections on the sides of the buildings on the opposite side of the street much more so.

Nice b&w. I wish that the lights were a bit more exposed but still really nice.

Nice B&W. Need maybe a more prominent figure or closer to get the story with the title

MY first thought was Metropolis 1955. It has an old feeling with your wonderful tones and the soft light breaking through the buildings. Love it.

A bit dark for my tastes, but I suppose it does add mood to the photo.
