fun with flashes.

In retrospect a flaming piece of meat in my BBQ tongs would have been a big improvement. But, I only had enough for the guests that were coming over. And i didn't have any assistants to help with taking the picture!

Grats on the back door ribbon Mark, very nice work, and thanks for the "how to" lighting link, I'd agree with the idea of a stronger gel, and perhaps had you rotated the background so it was a bit simpler, it would have put more focus on the heroic barbeque master. Great idea, well executed, shame about the model ;)

Something similar happened to me once. It took over 3 months for my eyelashes to grow back to what they were.

Great image and very well executed. Congrats.

Awesome lighting! I'm curious if you're using modifiers as it looks not quite soft, but not quite bare either.

Now here's a photo bursting with drama. Great title, too. I love the body language! Hot spots on the forearm and forehead detract a bit IMO, but this photo is so conceptually and compositionally strong that I'm really just nitpicking. One of my faves in this challenge--methinks a strong contender for the front page!
