I'm on a lighthouse run this month...

This entry might will be questioned for legality. But it's all on the up and up, I swear! I'll have to make sure I have all of the ACR settings since that is where 97% of the PP'ing came from. Other than that, I cloned out a dust spot, tweaked the brightness and contrast again, individual levels, and sharpened on the way down.

This was another spot where I froze my ass off. First, the walk out to this particular spot along the jetty is roughly .3-.4 of a mile, on a walkway covered in solid ice, with nice drop-offs on either side of you down into the rocks - some large enough to where you wouldn't be seen again. A little further back into the bay to the right, the ice looked like large long crystals. As the tide moved in and out, it sounded like glass breaking. It looked and sounded really weird. There was a guy fishing off of the jetty with three poles going at the same time. Crazy. I so badly wanted to get his upside-down bucket as an entry for the Chair challenge, but he wasn't very cordial at all and so I didn't ask.

I think this shot could do really well, but it will all depend on the voter's definition of Perspective. Who knows what that could be. :-/ But it is dramatic looking - so I have that going for me.

I'm very surprised that this hasn't been called in for verification after 100-some votes. I was positive it was going to be questioned. In fact, I submitted the original before voting ever took off. Do you get a notification if you preempt the system?

Well, the voters have spoken - it DOES fit the challenge! Great tones overall, I'm still not sure if it's the post processing or the original shot... but it's great nevertheless. Shame you got 11th when this definitely deserved to place in the top 10.

The foreground lighting is effective in creating the perspective in this shot. Well captured.

Lovely dramatic image with nice deep perspective. I like how the light illuminates that one section of the snow covered rocks in the foreground as well as the snow on the opposite pier. 8

Great lighting, great PP, very dramatic really.
Great contrasts between light and dark, close and far, soft and sharp.
9* just because the PP is slightly overdone.

this is a great capture, especially in a basic challenge as it looks to have some nice editing done

Great atmosphere and composition. My eyes are drawn towards the rocks in the foreground (rather than the lighthouses) because of the light. But keeping the limitations of basic editing in mind, it is still a nice shot. 7

Way to get down low to get a different perspective on this shot. Wonderfully dark and stormy image!

Not sure if this is really a different perspective but I love the dark sky opening up to the blue and white clouds in the center. Nice.
