Beautiful but lighting on face could be better.

VERY VERY well done. The expression on the face reall sells the photo. Nice job with the framing too.

This strikes me as a very good sort of "stock photo" for the article that the headline describes. Nice job, and the B&W works well. 7

this is such a descriptive photo- the only thing i'd say is a little more contrast. i like the depth of field, and the whole photo tells a great story. i can see it in a newspaper setting, good job

This goes in order of what I notice first:
1) I decided when I started voting/commenting that I wouldn't mention color vs. black and white...but I'm sorry, this picture just screamed COLOR to me. :(
2) Crop it more on the top and right side or even make it horizontal and crop it from his elbows to half of the basket.
3) Good lighting and contrast.
4) Good DOF.
Score: 6

Nice shot, might benefit from centering the subject, and showing more detail in the face. Also I can imagine that those peppers would make a brilliant color photo, but the B&W does fit this challange. Good work.

Great newsworthy picture with emotional appeal. Great DOF and clarity on the subject. Maybe adjust the lighting a wee bit lighter to bring emphasis to the subjects facial expression.

I would rephrase the headline, "Migrant Worker Rights: A forgotten Agenda?"
A headline needs to be very direct and to the point. There are many kinds of immigrants and some are treated better than others. I have to assume this is a migrant worker because of your headline.

I added the question mark because unless this is an editorial, there needs to be some objectivity. It is debatable that the rights of immigrants (or migrant workers) is a forgotten agenda. Journalism should not state opinion as fact.

This is a really nice photo but it has more of a travel feel to me. There isn't any real conflict evident. It just shows a man doing his job. He looks healthy and decently clothed so I'm not convinced he is suffering injustice. I'm not suggesting he isn't--I'm just stating as an objective observer, given no other context, this photo doesn't indicate that he isn't well-paid for his efforts. His load looks heavy but that doesn't really indicate much about the working conditions. If he were a small child, or a frail elderly person I would be more concerned that questionable ethics were involved.

Leaving the challenge for a moment, I think there isn't much wrong with this photo. I would like it much better in color. The vibrant colors of the peppers against the pale basket, the green fields, and his warm brown skin would make this much more captivating.

I would have liked to se what colors popped out on this one it meets the challenge very well in both subject and title. 7

Nice feature story idea, interesting image. Might have done better in color, it seems a bit washed out in B&W
