You fell prey to the "voters hate guns, and voters particularly hate kids with guns" phenomenon. Been there a couple times myself. I guess some subjects are too sensitive to see any humor in. Eh, whatcanyado. :-)

No, I won't vote at all. Great shot with good tones and composition, but a bit noisy.

Not a bad photo. I'm just not a fan of the guns.

Not much feeling of perspective as there is a lack of depth. The barrels should have been right up in your face and not so close to the bottom of the frame. Also the focus should be on the barrels with the girl subjected to a greater depth of field. 5

Sorry kid...6.

despite the clever title and composition i think i'd have liked this better had the barrels been in focus 6

They work better held in an upright position.
Gun control means being able to hit what you aim at.

interesting, a bit grainy

uhmmm I thought this challenge was Perspective, not Intimidation.

i am not a fan if the subject matter, especially with a model that looks so young
02/13/2010 06:51:42 PM
I'm scared to even comment on this lol. Good idea but it seems very noisey and I would of liked more of the shot in focus, especially the guns.
02/12/2010 02:04:27 PM
hmmm, well I think the guns shoulda have been in in focus

That facial expression is clear enough. But I don't get intimidated that easily. To bad about the grain.

for looking like a gangster tool you get a 1 wish I could vote 0

WTH..the age of the model and the subject of the photo don't work together for me. It does elicit an emotion, but one of being disturbed, so the photo succeeded in that area. Regarding the technicals, the eyes and the brim are nice and sharp. The photo grain gives this almost a film noir feel. Sorry this isn't what you wanted, lol.

You won't hold me hostage... 1 for you! Now get back to the corrections facility before I call your probie!

Aghh! OK! 7.

The perspective is all wrong. If you are looking for ways to increase the feeling of perspective, there are a few tricks that you can use, namely:
* Place directly lit subjects close to the camera and dark ones further away.
* Same as above but with contrasty subjects on the front
* Same as above with focus on the front
You went against all of these so it's easy to understand where the eye of the viewer is going to rest. IMHO this is a fortunate side effect as the viewer's eye will rest on the background because sincerely I can't understand all these mixings of kids and guns, but it must be me.

Good exposure, good use of B&W, excellent composition and fantastic model.
4* for those.
