Greeting from the Critique Club

First Impressions: Excellent emotion catching shot, great photojournalism.

Composition: The center framing on this works well and with this shot I feel as though the emotion captured outweighs any composition flaws. The focus is also spot on and nice details throughout.

Lighting: Was this posed? I am thinking that it wasn’t but either way I thin the lighting is excellent. No harsh shadows and no blown out areas. Well lit all throughout the shot.

Artistic: This has it all, the look in his eyes, the dirt on his face and helmet all really tell a story.

Challenge: This definitely meets the challenge and is unique and stands out.

Overall I think this was a well done photo but it lacked a wow factor that many look for. Looking at your scores you received very few 4 or below which is excellent and you had a small audience that really appreciated this shot. As mentioned in the comments it would have been nice to eliminate the small portion of the mic but it also may have benefited from more of the mic but just that little piece seems out of place.

Great job on this and well done on a new personal best.

This was my favorite in the challenge by a good four lengths. Should have scored much better.

This is spot on and even more impresive as it's cleary reportage. 10 from me

Very strong shot - perhaps would have benefitted from a little more room in front of his face ?

I really like the little splatters of dirt all over the place. Good job.

Excellent portrait! Compliments. (if it was advanced editing I would have cloned out the "microphone?" in the under left corner..... 9!

well done from a technical point of view. A great "hat". Not very interesting though...6
