Monument Valley in Arizona. The mist stuff is actually a flipping snow storm! Yep in Az (Oh the weather we had!) (info for others to use==) We stayed actually in Monument Valley at the hotel, well worth the price about $125 a night. The food on site was really good, and large meals for the price)

Processing was pretty basic, selective colours , dodge and burn and then added some warmth sharpned.

Thank you every one for the comments.

Originality counts greatly, here, Juliet. I have seen hundreds or thousands of Monument Valley and this is the very best picture of Monument Valley I have seen, save, MAYBE, in John Ford's black and white westerns. But for photos taken in the last sixty years or so, this is definitely the best. Thank you for sharing with us.

Isn't that in New Mexico? Mitten Rock? Sure I've read about it in Tony Hillerman books. Anyway, great image, congrats on the red! :-)

Great image Juleit, contorted and windblown tree. The background adds to the desolate feel.

Looks like you took this during a dust storm! It's an interesting scene, but some of the areas especially along the left are a little dark.

This composition doesn't work for me. I find myself wanting to see either the tree or the scenery, but not both together like this.

I like it, it has sort of a dark mood to it. Interesting landscape around the tree too... 7
