Yes I know it's probably not bizarre enough for this challenge. It's row houses on a very steep road, I simply tilted the camera to take the photo.

Yes I know the wires are distracting but there's no way around them.

I have a shot without the car (taken on a different day, with harsh shadows) but I preferred the one with the car, to give it a bit of perspective.

I really wasn't expecting this photo to do this well. I was preparing myself for a 5.5 score. Thrilled with the score, favourite and comments. Thanks!

Very neat shot. Actually, both versions are nice.

You can say that again.

Oh, you did this just exactly right. Enjoyed at our house.

What a great way to make 'normal' look 'bizarre'! I was totally fooled by the tilted crop and after seeing the outtakes I understand how it worked!

Really clever! Even the sign tells us the houses are messed up.

I absolutely love the simple complexity of this shot. Good gosh, I just can't understand for the life of me how the builders could have made such a mistake in the construction of these houses. Didn't they have plumb bobs when these homes were made? Oh wait, that's right...The Depression.
The car just makes it all seem right!

Great idea with the play on angles. Is that a no parking sign where the car is parked? And is the sign crooked? Lots of illusion here, and nice array of color.

Judging from the way the curtains are hanging, I'd say it's the hill that is angled. Gotta give you kudos for creative thinking on this, however. It is very effective until I look at the details. Interesting that the no parking sign is tilted with the hill.

I do home inspections for a living and I have to tell you I have some concerns here! Fun shot, like the way you leveled the street to create an interesting shot. the car being there really adds to the effect.

I appreciate it, but I can't give it a very high score. 5. I think it's th elighting. Although it's a reaity shot, sunset or sunrise shooting would have made it so much better. Great concept

I first thought this might be a hill in San Francisco but then I noticed that the parking sign is straight up in the frame. Well spotted!

This is a great optical illusion which was done with camera rotation. One thing that really throws me for a loop and makes me keep looking is the no parking sign... it appears to be vertical and if the photo was rotated it would be at an angle which makes me want to believe the houses are really built crooked. I just can't stop looking and wondering.

Aside from all that the photo is technically good with great color shot at what looks like nearly mid day light making it pretty average photography.

Technically Good Photo + Optical Illusion = A vote of 7.

Great effect. Glad those curtains are hanging straight!

Pretty amazing and bizarre architecture for sure. Do people actually live in them? If so I guess the inside of the houses themselves are normal with level floors and such. It strikes me that the curtains are not leaning with the house like one would expect them too. They must have been starched stiff to hang the way they do.

More impact if your false horizon was horizontal?

St. John's? Steep hill?

I like the tilt you applied.
