should have known this was you Manny. Great shot. I gave it a 9 during the challenge, and that's rare for me. Did you bump the saturation a little? The colour looks a little grainy for the D70.

well done as always.

Great capture! Pose is perfect as is his expresion. Robe colors are very rich - adding to the impact. The dark background is very nice but the bighter green area surrounding his head does not work well for me. Border = not needed.

He looks peaceful. Wish it were just a touch sharper... or you really took advantage of the softness.

The photo is so good, it doesn't need the additional items in parentheses, IMHO. - 8

Good concept but I'm not sure the final image conveys the feeling.

nice picture, nice theme you chose for it.. it gives the picture meaning which is the whole point of these challenges, and I think your the first one that i've come across that has!

Very nice picture, I would have cropped out some of the top and include his feet. 8

Great portrait! I like the halo of light around the monk and the darkness around the edges. I don't care for your title- at least the parenthetical part. The title makes it seem like you are either trying to shoehorn the image into this challenge, or you think we need help figuring out how it meets the challenge. Either way makes me want to score it lower than I otherwise would have. Would you have included "(An Extraordinary Goal)" if this weren't for DPChallenge or weren't for an extraordinary challenge? If not, shame on you for for pandering to the masses and not following your own artistic vision!

I like the expression here, and the pose is very nice, especially the hands. The vibrant orange and yellow came out really nicely. I would like less air above his head, and possibly a sharper focus on his face, it looks a little fuzzy, maybe just needs a light unsharp mask to make him stand out more clearly. Nice DOF.

The composition makes good use of the shallow DOF by framing the subject in the lighter portion..well captured

Good job. A bit underexposed though.

"National Geographic-esque " ... well done, and cranking up the saturation really helps.

Nothing extraordinary about this photo. Smart title would not fix the image.

How extraordinary would this picture have looked in black and white? Just a thought.
