Somehow all my free study shots seem to be skies ... this one is at sunrise, taken while walking to work.

I tried to use the trees to block most of the glare and keep some detail in the clouds. I took four shots, but this came out the best as far as compositional balance. It's one of the few times I wish I had a wider-angle lens though!

I like the diagonal, and the feeling of depth. The tree branches align pretty well with the cloud elements, almost to where you can imaging the clouds being "given off" by the branches. I like the different types of cloud texture.

This is almost straight from the camera -- used one moderate curve to give it a little more contrast and detail, resized, USM at 66%, 0.6dia, TH=5, JPEG=8/10.

This has so much depth and works really well for me.....
I a have always love clouds, and I used to lay on the grass, and try to find differant objects in the clouds, or just daydream my life away.....
No two clouds are ever the same, and they a photographers dream.....
I really like your composition with the balance of the clouds against the trees.

Thanks, I never noticed that particular abberation. I think it's caused by the light coming through leaves seen mostly edge-on, but it was probably made "worse" by the small amount of sharpening I did, although I was trying to avoid any haloing. I suppose I could also try blaming it on JPEG artifacting ...

Nice silouette, but it is up against some tough competition this month.

I like the silhouettes. The image is not overly colorful yet has a very bold appearance.
