I've always wanted to photograph the scene just to the west of my workplace. I just never had the motivation to do so until this challenge.

Here we see some of the rolling farmland of Verona, WI. I got lucky that the wind was calm so I could see nice reflections in the pond, but unfortunately the sky wasn't spectacular, so I cropped much of it out.

In post processing, I played around with brightness and contrast a bit, upped the sharpness, Moved around the curves, desaturated, and took out any noise reduction (I like a bit of noise in B&W).

Interestingly, this is the first challenge I have entered using the 18-55 kit lens. Probably won't do too well, but I like it.

would be better without so much featureless sky - good luck

A little bit too much sky. It would look great if there were a few clouds.

I'd prefer this photo if it were less busy; it's also a bit difficult to discern the contours of the land in the foreground.

Very rural! Gives the viewer a good appreciation of the scene. For me, the contrast profile is a little dull but I nice picture nonetheless.
