Isaac in a pose based on "The Statue Of The Crane" in one of his forms, along with a wooden replica of a Chinese broadsword for extra effect.

I have no studio space or modeling lights, so we used an overcast sky and the trunk of a very large pine tree as a backdrop.

Good shot but the borders are not working for me. Also, the attempt at a shallow DOF through Photoshop isn't the cleanest. I like the choice to go b/w. Good luck.

the pp for the blur doesn't work for me, nor the border

The shallow DOF works very nicely here. Good job.

I like the idea, but I feel the legs should be just as sharp as the torso.

Nice, but a bit blurry in spots which distracts. 5

Two things made me give this a really low score. First off, the post processing blurring of the backround is really sub standard, it´s really obvious and I always reccomend doing the blurring in camera if possible. Secondly the gradient "pillars" or whatever it is on the sides just throw me off. There is actually a third thing that bothers me, this seems to be shot outdoors when the challenge says studio shot but I´ll give you the benefit of the doubt since I can´t know for sure.

I do like the pose/outfit.

Nice idea - but perhaps you blurred the background in pp? His foot on the ground has a lot of issues. Like your concept though!

First, was supposed to be in studio, second the processing has horrid jagged images around him from where I believe you blurred the background.
