 Model is Dea Katrin Tosic, makeup by Eva Hrönn and hair by Kata. I shot this VERY last minute, just before midnight on the 27th, fortunately Iceland is 4 hours ahead so I still had about 2 hours to go before deadline to submit it when I got home at 2 am. I didn´t really have time to put together a photoshoot so all credit for doing so goes to Dea, Eva and Kata. Eva was working the smoke machine, I know I have done it before but I just thought it would look cool in this shot and we were lucky in this particular shot that the smoke pretty much mimicked the pose.

I was shooting that same night for our pinup series (you can see it at flickr if you are interested) and asked if Dea could come to the studio very late so we could shoot this after doing the pinup shots, I couldn´t use them as they would have required expert editing. The concept is Dea´s and the clothes are made by Elin Ósk Hreindal. The bird is not a real one, not sure what it was made of but this photoshoot cost it it´s life as it fell to the floor during the shoot.

Lighting is 2 striplight softboxes from behind and a big softbox from the front + silver reflector between us pointed upwards.

No I meant En Vogue, typo´s happen when you submit at 2am after working an 18 hour day :P

I keep coming back to this shot, and I wasn't sure why i did. Figured it out, she works her neck like I have never seen before. She has her head tilted just right to make it the same as her body, which when the neck is extended like that can often be thrown back and look smaller than her body. This really is a great shot and every-time i look at it I see a little bit more

I enjoyed the picture, i knew the technicals were great, something i would not have the equipment or possibly the skill to do myself. The pose and bird in hand seemed to escape me. Seemed like weirdness for the sake of weirdness and didn't really grab me. I voted a 6, however had I known it was your shot I would have voted a 6.

The standout entry in my eyes. Surely a contender for the blue. I love the pose, the central composition really works. I really like the way the smoke seems to mirror her pose rather than filling the frame. And there is just the right amount of "strange" to be a proper fashion shot. 10

I love the design of clothes.

This is crazy!!! I love it! I love the overall production from the makeup to the clothing to the smoke and lighting. I'm trying to find something to be nitpicky about, but I can't find anything. Not voting this challenge.
