ap·per·cep·tion
n.
1. Conscious perception with full awareness.
2. The process of understanding by which newly observed qualities of an object are related to past experience.
3. Perception of inner meaning.

In contrast to perception, which refers to the external world, apperception is introspection, conscious thought, or the consciousness of internal states. It is at the same time consciousness of, or reflection on the “I” or the self, that is the subject of these states. In apperception the self is aware of itself as being a unity and as possessing the power to act. - From The Blackwell Dictionary of Western Philosophy

Ha! Yes, Michelle. This is baby Matilda. A very useful model! She's doing great. Putting on a lot of weight now after her shaky start.

On first look, I was going to say this was underrated, but on second look, the voting breakdown is fairly well balanced between people who liked and hated it. A success in my book! Keep doing what you're doing.

You got an 8 from me with this amazing image. For the longest time I saw it as a figure walking in a tunnel, and then apperception set in and I saw the eye for what it was. and is. lovely work.

Points for using a word nobody else did, that is also a cool and fun word.
Points for a great creation of a creepy portrait. Almost film noir to me- there's a lot that's brooding here and unsaid.
Points for... well... being my favorite of the challenge.
