After a bad break up with an ex, I decided to have a bit of fire therapy and burn everything. For Valentines Day, he gave me 11 roses and one silk one... the card read, "I will love you until the last one dies" Guess what... it's now dead! :)

A little too busy to be effective (imho). Maybe a tighter zoom on the flower & flames to throw the background paper more out of focus would work better. Interesting subject though.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What interesting imagery - full of story, though we are left to extrapolate our own script from your title. This image has an organic, uncontrolled, unbounded quality that I like. I often comment that all photographs are contrived, at least through our process of framing. Here, that effect is minimised - the scene is consuming and alive and through that it feels very uncontrived. Does that make any sense at all?

Critical stuff: Nothing

Overall: This has quite a different feel from most of the images we see. I like that. A lot.

Love the idea, not sure about the sentiment LOL. The roses need to dominate the composition more in order to be the subject.
